Article II. Principles

Submitted by:  Bylaws Committee

Change the text of Article II from:

We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose. We believe that free markets, defined as a system where human agents are free to choose their cooperation through the division of labor and decide what the fruits of entrepreneurial activity shall be, is the only way to arrive at a free and prosperous society. Through the freedom of human action we aim to provide for the enlightenment concerning the nature of true liberalism.  Further, we attest that liberty always means freedom from government.

To:

We, the members of the NVCLP, advocate the American tradition of limited government and defend the rights of the individual to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of other to live in whatever manner they choose. Further, we endorse the Libertarian political position on the moral principle of self-ownership where each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government’s only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force or fraud.

Purpose:

Modified to make it less philosophical and to make it more direct and more specific.
